SL Wong is at slwong{at}

SL Wong is a Malaysian freelance writer who has been writing professionally for 25 years. Her work appears in the print, broadcast and electronic media.

Her specialty areas are environmental and travel writing. Her focus is books, including travel guidebooks and conservation publications. She has also worked on documentaries and led online content development.

Most recently, she wrote a feature article on reform in conservation-related institutions, policy and legislation in new Malaysia. This follows an earlier critical piece on climate change policy and direction. Meanwhile a short film on marine plastic pollution that she made with Stephanie Theresa, was shortlisted for best public service announcement at the Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival.

She has also developed and run campaigns for NGO MNS Marine (the Marine Special Interest Group of the Malaysian Nature Society Selangor Branch), respectively on shark conservation and marine plastic pollution (for which above short video was done). Last year, she was on the organising committee of the World Oceans Day event, held for the first time in KL, and ran the publicity campaign for it.

Two decades after the Fall of the Berlin Wall, Siew Lyn spent over four years in Berlin and has built an online version of her years there in words and photographs.

She will get round to fleshing out this site at some point.
